Beginning Project CDSWEB

Hey everyone,

I am looking for your opinions and expertise on a new project I am developing for work.  Custom Data Services, Inc. work, not the usual side work that I have talked about in the past. The project is going to be pretty large for a 1 man team, but I think I can handle if I take my time and do it right.  Which is why I have spaced it out over a 2 year period.  Below I have copied my project proposal.

My first objective is to get your opinions on the proposal and my goals. I know most of you can be pretty opinionated so don’t hold back okay.  I need honesty because well I want this project to propel this company into the forefront of the web as there is quite a bit of money to be made out there.

Here is the Project Proposal:

PROJECT CDSWEB

Does website design include all the designs for each part of the project? Front end, admin, ect. If so I fear one month may not be long enough.

  2. Adam says:

The design stage will include designing all of the interfaces for both the front end and back end web design yes. A daunting task without a doubt, but one that I feel won’t take very long because not much is going to change from page to page. Headings, lists, tables, and most web components will stay that same. So will layout and theme, so the only real change is the content that will be displayed.

  3. Danny says:

Just out of interest, will you be using a frame work such as 960.gs

  4. Adam says:

Most likely. I like the grid system because it makes laying sites out so easy, and it is already cross browser compatible so it makes development simple.

I think the fact that you are thinking over a two year term is very realistic and sensible. Looks like a suitable and very achievable plan to me and it’s always great to have set dates to go by.

    Good luck.
