Learning the basics of something can often be boring, yet they are essential to know when you want to accomplish a task. In part 2 of our series on search engine marketing I am going to tell you about the different types of search results that you will find on the internet.
There are two major types of search results to be found on the internet: organic search results and paid search results.
Organic search results are those that are found naturally by a search engine based off of keywords, and page content. These types of results are the most used with roughly 60% of all searches having an organic result clicked. This is mainly because they occurred naturally and users are more likely to trust them. Organic search results are therefore very important for your company to have. In search engine marketing obtaining quality organic search results that have a high ranking is a difficult task, but one we will discuss in detail in later submissions.
Paid search results are exactly as they sound. You pay an organization to show your link when a keyword is searched. These types of results are generally found on the right or bottom of a search page and are targeted specifically based on keywords the links creator wanted them to be. Although these results are not in the majority of the click ratio for search results, their percentage of the market share is growing steady and you will find that have a paid search program will be something that is very important to your company.
