Lisa Page's Home Business Blog

Today I add another peice of work to my portfolio.

When reviewing the design of Lisa Page’s new blog on youngentrepreneur forums Lisa asked for some help on a new logo design.  Lisa and I had talked before about doing some design work, but we never really ironed anything out.  Well things came along in a bit of a different manner and we were able to work out a deal in which I provided Lisa with a fun character based logo and she would provide me with some advertising space on her blog.

Original Logo Concept

It is time to add a possible new addition to the portfolio.  Here is the first concept in the logo design process for a new client.

The logo is designed to reflect the content of the new hip hop magazine.  For this logo I used the clients requested color black to display the young urban feel of the hip hop crowd.  The logo shows a bit wild style taking the urban artform of grafitti and transforming it into business marketing.

The logo is drawn in Adobe Illustrator and is therefore a vector graphic and easily scalable.  I decided though for the smaller version of the image to move the text inline so that it is more readable.

Please feel free to use the comments sections to let me know what your opinions on the design are.

New Icon Design

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

After writing my article on web 2.0 icons I got caught up in the fun that is icon design and started fooling around in Illustrator again.  I contacted a friend of mine that I had created some icons for in the past and asked if he had anything that he needed done because I felt like I needed a new project.

The icons that you see above are the newest icons that I created.  I used Adobe Illustrator to draw the icons in vector format and then coverted them over to Axialis Icon Creator using the plugin that is available with the purchased software.  The benefit of this is that the plugin allows you to select how much you want to anitalais the images so that when converted to a small size there is not as much distortion in the original pixel.

Please take a minute to let me know what you think of the newest addition to my portfolio.  Which will soon be added to my site.
