Don’t Get Caught Playing, Close That Window Quickly
Wednesday, December 5th, 2007
Windows came specially packaged with a plethora of ways to do things quickly. With only your keyboard you can easily do almost any task that you are looking to accomplish. In this edition of quicktricks, I explain how to close a program without leaving the keyboard.
This tip like our previous one is very useful when trying to hide your game playing or lack of working from your boss, but this time you will use it to get rid of the evidence rather than just switching to another window.
For the time being I really don’t want you closing my blog while you are learning what I am teaching you so, go open any other program you would like. I will stick with my solitaire.
Ok, now you have you game up on your screen. Simply hold down the Alt key and now tap F4 and release both keys.
Yep that was it. Bless Microsoft and making it so easy on us to avoid getting caught at work.
In our next edition of quicktrick look for something a little more work useful. Although our first to shortcut keys were used keep you from working we are going to start focusing on the shortcuts that are going to make your work day a little easier.
Do you know any shortcuts that you would like the world to hear? email them to me from my contact form. Do you know another way to do this same task? Leave a comment and inform the world. Did you like this post? Add it to one of the social networking sites. Looking for more? Please Subscribe.
