It’s Like A Pinata For Bloggers

 The University Kid

The University Kid is a blog, which I found while he was pariticipating in a rss competition with 4 other bloggers (that he won) and I have grown found of his site.  TUK is a high quality blog about how to make money blogging.  TUK makes daily updates that provide the blogosphere with some serious and quality information about how to market and propel your blog to the next level.  If you are looking into having blogging as secondary or even primary income I would definitely recommend checking his site out.

And if high quality information isn’t enough to wet your pallette then this should be.

As a kid breaking open the Pinata was always the most fun part of the party because at what other time could you have candy and prizes rain down upon you in a blinding fashion. The answer was never, that is until now if you are a blogger. If you don’t know the University Kid, you are about to. He is holding the “ultimate blogging contest” which is no exageration.   Here is the list of prizes he is giving away.

Miscellaneous

I am shooting for the hour consultation with the kid himself. I would like to tickle his brain for a while, he seems to really have it together. If he didn’t he would never have been able to get this kind of sponsorship.  It is really outstanding.  I believe his web income last month was over $1,000 and he decided it still wasn’t good enough which means he has been working hard to increase it as you can see.  I seem to lack that motivation, or at least the skills to pull something like this off.  I could use the counseling and think I could learn alot from him.

So go check out The University Kid’s Ultimate Blog Contest and make sure you do it from my site cause if I can be one of the highest referrals that will help me win stuff :) .

If you are awesome subscribe to my rss feed.  If you like emails subscribe via email.  Remember only you can prevent forest fires help me acheive my goal of 100 subscribers by June.

Contests Are King?

There has been a coup, and content has been dethroned.  At least it seems this way.  Blogging for blogging’s sake is becoming a thing of the past and the majority of people in it are now in it to make money.  And how do you make money? By getting readers.

Contests are not king, content is and forever will be, but a  good contest will draw more attention to your site quickly than normal content would probably ever be able to do.

The reason you are having the contest is most likely to gain rss subscribers, but having subscribers alone won’t make you any money, you need to get these subscribers to return, to trust you, and to either by your product or to click on your ads.  A contest may be the way you get them to your blog, but in order to bring them back and build that relationship you need to have great content.

So, before you go out and spend your life savings giving away a free ipod to one lucky reader make sure you have something to back it up so that they return and your contest doesn’t prove to be a weeks worth of hit hits and unique visits.
